Hitch-a-Hike Victoria Dog Care Services
At Hitch-a-Hike Victoria, we offer off-leash adventures designed to provide your pup with safe and enriching outdoor experiences. Whether your dog thrives in pack settings or prefers one-on-one attention, we have options to suit every need.
Our main services are group dog walks, which include 60 minutes of sniffing, playing, and general shenanigans at local off-leash trails and parks. Our groups never include more than six dogs. Pickup and drop off is included, courtesy of our dog-friendly vans. Please note: We require clients and their pups to attend a meet and greet before scheduling a walk to ensure that we best understand and plan for their needs.
We organize our packs according to dogs that are most compatible with each other. If your dog is a little older and has a little more mileage on their joints or mobility challenges, we also offer walks catered to seniors — your dog can still enjoy the outdoors, without trying to keep up to more rambunctious pups or challenging terrain.
We also consider where each dog is located and plan pickup and drop-off routes to minimize how much time your dog spends driving. Regardless of driving time, they always spend at least 60 minutes on the trail.

Perfect for dogs on a regular schedule. These group walks include 60 minutes of off-leash adventure, with pickup and drop-off included. Groups are capped at six dogs max for safe and engaging experiences.

A 60-minute walk geared toward our senior pals!
These walks are offered Tuesday and Thursday mornings at parks that are friendlier for pups who have a little more mileage than our younger pals. This means less rugged terrain + lots of enriching sniffs!

The muddy and messy hikes are often the most fun for your dog, but dirty paws don’t often make for a clean home. As an add-on, we offer a quick clean-up service for your pup after their adventure.

Pet sitting — overnights & daycare

A 12-hour (8am to 8pm) day of doggy daycare on weekdays, which includes two hikes and pickup/drop-off. Weekend daycare includes a single but longer adventure at East Sooke or our other favourite parks.

The Hitch-a-Hike Victoria team follows Fear-Free and Force-Free Certified practices, which means prioritizing your dog’s emotional and physical well-being.
Hitch-a-Hike ensures that every adventure is positive, stress-free, and tailored to your pup’s comfort. We used reward-based techniques, gentle guidance, and patience to build confidence and trust with handlers and the pack.
We take six dogs maximum per group! As a Force-Free and Fear-Free-Certified company, it's important to us to ensure all dogs feel safe and comfortable at all times while in our care, including taxi to/from our walk locations.
Limiting our groups to six pups or less helps to ensure they have ample space in our vehicles, that they feel confident around all other members of their squad, and gives us the confidence to safely monitor all pups and interactions during our adventures.
